PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- Down by as many as 16 points, the Fredonia State men's basketball team came all the way back and took a brief lead in the final minutes, but fell short in a 91-88 loss at Plattsburgh on Saturday.
David Jordan led the Devils with 21 points on 7-11 shooting from three-point range.
Keenan Roberts Jr. added 18 points and
Tyrese Fuller had 14 points, nine assists, and a team-high six rebounds.
Isaiah Youngquist was the fourth Devil in double digits, finishing with 11 points.
Roberts Jr. converted a layup-and-one to tie the game at 81 with 2:14 left to play. Jordan would later nail a three with 1:20 showing on the clock to put the Devils up, 84-83.
A three pointer by Plattsburgh's Dylan Trombley with 39 seconds left would put the Cardinals up for good. Fredonia State got off a pair of three point attempts in an effort to tie the game in its final possession, but could not connect.
Trombley would lead the Cardinals, now 4-6 and 1-2 in the SUNYAC with 18 points, one of six players in double-digit scoring for his team.
The Devils (4-5 and 1-1 SUNYAC) travel to Potsdam for a 4 p.m game on Saturday.
