FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State Blue Devils came up short against the Cortland State Red Dragons on Friday night. Cortland would defeat the Devils, 50-83.
Allie Wandell led the Devils with 12 points
Sarah Seaman added 10 points and three rebounds, and
Mary Culeton and
Grace Alexander chipping in seven and six points, respectively.
The Red Dragons would use a strong first half scoring 26 points in each of the first and second quarters to build a comfortable 37-point lead after one half.
The Devils would play Cortland even throughout the third quarter with both sides scoring 19, and would manage to outscore the Dragons in the fourth by four. However, the deficit created in the first half would prove to be too much for Fredonia State to overcome.
Logan Streety had a game high 27 points and 11 rebounds for Cortland.
Fredonia State now drops to 7-7 overall and 2-5 in SUNYAC play. The Devils will look to respond against SUNY Oswego on Saturday with a 2 p.m. tip off.
