FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball would fall at home to Oswego State, 70-56, on Saturday.
Allie Wandell would finish the night with 15 points for the Devils while
Grace Alexander would go for 14 points and five rebounds.
Mary Culeton would added nine points four rebounds, and three assists.
Oswego State would score the games first five points, however, with under two minutes remaining the Devils would manage to tie the game back up at 8.
Sarah Seaman for Fredonia State would convert on a driving layup and hit a three pointer to go up 13-8. The Lakers would score a late bucket to go into the second quater down 13-10.
The Lakers would recapture the lead mid way through the second quater off of a jumper made by Macey DeOrdio. The Lakers would close the first half holding onto a four point lead over the Devils.
Throughout the third the Lakers would out pace Fredonia State building up a 11 point lead with under one minute remaining in the quater. Fredonia State's
Grace Alexander would sink a pair of free throws and would hit a layup off a steal to draw the Devils within seven.
Oswego State would manage to stave off the Devils comeback and would ultimately close out the the fourth up 14 to claim the 70-56 win.
Karleigh Leo & Macey DeOrdio would each score 15 points for the Lakers and Giavanna White-Principio would grab a game 11 rebounds.
The Devils play host to Brockport next Tuesday in a women's/men's doubleheader beginning at 5:30, with the men tipping off at 7:30.
