HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State volleyball team dropped both its matches in a tri-match at Houghton on Saturday. They fell to the hosts Houghton 26-24, 25-23,17-25, 25-27, 15-4. To Alfred State, they won the first set, 25-20, before dropping the next three, 25-20, 25-11, 25-18.

Against Houghton, Kylie O'Brien and Gabrielle Sordetto paced the offense with 14 kills each. Erin Callahan had 11. The Devils also had their serve game going, with Elora Sherman, Kailea Sullivan, and Olivia Boswell each collecting four aces. Boswell also had 41 assists.

Defensively, Sherman had 14 digs, and Sullivan and Boswell had 11 apiece.

Callahan paced the attack vs. Alfred State with 11 kills, and Sordetto had three aces. Foley had a team-high four blocks, and Cayla Partsch added three. Boswell had 26 assists.

Sherman duplicated her effort from the first match, collecting 13 digs.

The Devils now stand at 2-11 on the season. Alfred State, who defeated Houghton 3-0, improves to 6-4. Houghton is now 4-7.
