Oneonta N.Y. -- The Fredonia State baseball team suffered two losses in their doubleheader against Oneonta today. In their first game the Devils fell 12-2 and would come up just short in the second game by a final of 10-8.  

Game 1 
Oneonta would jump out to a early 4-0 lead scoring two runs in the first and two runs in the second. Both teams would settle into a rhythm on deffense as each side was held scoreless through the next two innings. 

Oneonta would score in the fifth off of a fielders choice pushing the lead to five. Fredonia State would find some momentum in the sixth with a Brady Ventura double to start the inning. Garrett Stuckey would single to right field, driving in Ventura for the first Devils score.

Stuckey would advance to second off a wild pitch from the Red Dragons and would go on to score off of a sac fly. Oneonta would respond with one run in the seventh and six in the eighth to secure the 12-2 victory. 

Stuckey would lead the Devils finishing the day going 3-4 with 1 run and 1 RBI. Ventura for Fredonia State would go 2-3 and 1 run. 

Morgan Zientara took the loss, going four innings and surrendering five earned. Nathaniel Lockwood would come in as relief giving up four runs in three innings of work.

Game 2 
To start the game, after singling, Fredonia's Garrett Stuckey would steal second. Tyler Curtis would single up the middle bringing in Stuckey to take the early 1-0 lead. In the second inning Alex Gannon would go yard with a solo homerun to go up 2-0.

Oneonta would tie the game up at two going into the fourth but Fredonia State would respond with a two run homerun from Jake Wentland to go up 4-2. Oneonta would erupt at the bottom of fifth with five runs to take their first lead of the game 7-4. The Devils would cut into the Dragon lead scoring off a Gannon sac fly which would be erased by a Oneonta score in the next inning.

At the top of the eighth, Jeremy Rosado would single up the left field and would steal second. Stuckey for the Devils would double, driving in Rosado but the Dragons would score twice in the bottom of the eighth putting score at 10-6.

In their last at bats with a runner on second and one out,  Gannon for the Devils would lace a triple and eventually score on a passed ball to draw within two. Unfortunately, Oneonta would strike out the final two batters, putting a end to the Devils comeback with a final score of 10-8.

Gannon would lead the Devils in game two going 2-4 with two runs and three RBIs. Stuckey would have another impressive game going 3-5 with one run and two RBIs.

Pitcher Nathan O'Brochta would pitch four innings with five hits, seven runs with two strike outs. In relief, Nick Syposs would finish with four hits, three runs and one strike out in three innings of work. 

The Blue Devils will finish out their series against the Red Dragons tomorrow April 22nd at Oneonta with game time scheduled for 12:00 P.M.
