PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State softball team dropped both games in their doubleheader today against St. John Fisher. The first game, the Devils lost 0-9 to the Cardinals and would go on to lose the second game by a score of 0-10.Â
Game One
The Cardinals would jump the Devils early, taking a 1-0 nothing lead into the second inning and would capitalize on three errors to score three more runs. A solo homerun to left field for Fisher by Mari Spitz and a three run homerun from Kelly Cournoyer would put the game out of reach.Â
Allie Wandell and
Alyssa Santiago would register the only hits for the Devils.Â
Game Two
To start the second game the Devils would walk the first two batters. Madi Rose would hit a double driving in two runs with the Cardinals finishing the inning adding one more run.
Now at the top of the lineup again in the second, lead off batter for Cardinals Rose singled to left field and would score off a Donlin double. Another double to left field from Amalia DeMartino would score two more runs. DeMartino would score a unearned run pushing the score to 7-0 going into the third.
The Cardinals would score two unearned runs in the fourth and one unearned run in the fifth en route to a 10-0 final in favor of St. John Fisher.Â
Isabella Lemke would finish the game 2-2 withÂ
Madison Esmond going 1-3 for the Devils.
The Devils are scheduled to travel to Potsdam and Plattsburgh this weekend.
