FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Down 2-1, the Fredonia State hockey team used a pair of scores in the span of 49-seconds in the third period take down the Potsdam Bears on Saturday. The Devils would eventually add an empty netter to claim a 4-2 victory. The win occurred in front of a raucous crowd as Pink the Rink returned after a two-year absence.

Ryan Bailey scored his team-leading eighth goal of the year at 5:29 of the third to tie the game at 2-all. Kurri Woodfood brought the crowd to its feet as he gave the Devils their first lead of the game at the 6:18 mark, scoring on a power play.

Bryce Witman added an empty netter with 24 seconds left on the clock to seal the deal.

Logan Dyck made 36 saves in net, including fending off a 5-on-3 late in the game while the Devils nursed a one-goal lead.

In the early going, Potsdam used two first-period scores to take the initial lead.

Craig McCabe halved the lead when he scored the only goal of the second period. Woodford and Jack Schlifke assisted.

Johnny Aonso had two assists for the Devils, and Gregg Lee and Ethan Pitzman added assists.

The Devils improved to 4-8 in the SUNYAC, while  Potsdam fell to 3-11. Overall the Devils are 6-14.

The return of Pink the Rink also saw funds raised over the years surpass the $100,000 mark. Postgame festivities included the handing out of jerseys to those that sponsored them.

The Devils head to Brockport next Friday, then return home to Steele Hall for a Saturday contest vs. Geneseo.
