FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State hockey team fell 4-1 to the No. 2 ranked Plattsburgh State Cardinals on Saturday. The Devils scored first, but surrendered the next four goals -- the final an empty netter near the end of regulation. Kurri Woodford had the Blue Devils' lone goal.

After a scoreless first, Woodford shot from the left point and went bar down for his second goal of the season. Baxter Kimball assisted.

Plattsburgh got on the board when Paul Bryer scored on a wrap around 12:42 into the second period. Tio D'Addario redirected a shot from Lonan Bulger later in the period to put the Cardinals up 2-1.

Just 1:16 into the second period, the Luk Jirousek made it a 3-1 game for the visitors. An empty-net goal from Bennett Stockdale capped the scoring.

Charles-Anthony Barbeau made 30 saves in goal, surrendering three scores. Jacob Hearne had 19 saves, allowing a single score.

The Devils were 0-4 on power plays, and Plattsburgh 0-5. 

Plattsburgh improves to 10-2-0 overall and 6-2-0 in the SUNYAC.

The Devils (3-9-0 / 3-6-0) are finished for the fall semester. Action picks back up after the new year on January 9th at Brockport.
