BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team dropped a 95-74 road contest at Brockport on Saturday.
AJ Knight led the Devils with 16 points, and
Aaron Collins had 15.
My'Kell Kaigler added 11.
Knight scored the Devils' first five points as they opened with a 5-2 lead.
Later in the half, Brockport was nursing a 16-14 lead when the Eagles made their first big push. They went on a 12-0 run to make it a 28-14 game with 6:55 showing on the clock. The Devils were not able to cut the lead to single digits, and trailed 49-33 at the break.
The Eagles did not falter in the second half, maintaining a lead through the end of the game. A trio of Eagles finished with 19 points -- Tony Arnold, Mekhi Bennett, and David Grady.
Brockport held a one-rebound advantage, 34-33, for the game. The Devils were slowed by 17 turnovers compared to eight by Brockport.
The Eagles were 9-18 from three-point range and hit 54 percent of their shots overall, while the Devils hit on 8-25 long-range opportunities and shot 42 percent from the floor.
Fredonia State is home next Friday and Saturday when they play host to Potsdam and Plattsburgh.
