ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team fell 62-41 at Oneonta on Friday.
Renee Park led the Devils with nine points and four steals, and
Amber Louis added eight points.
Molly Stephens scored 10 points to lead the Red Dragons. She was the only player on either team to reach double digits.
The Devils jumped out early.
Allie Wandell and
Laurell Brown hit baskets, and Park converted a free throw to put the Devils up 5-0. Oneonta bounced back scoring the next 10 points. They went up 13-7 after the first quarter.
The Devils kept it close, and pulled within a point late in the second quarter. A three-point play by Louis cut the Dragon lead to 20-19. Oneonta closed the half on an 8-1 run, going up 28-20 at the half.
The third quarter was all Oneonta, with the Dragons outscoring the Devils 24-7 and putting the game away.
The Devils travel to New Paltz for a 2 p.m. tipoff on Saturday.
