ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell 81-67 at New Paltz.
AJ Knight led the team with 24 points, and
Malik Jemison had 11.
New Paltz led by double digits most of the first half. The Devils closed within six points when
Aaron Collins,
My'Kell Kaigler, and Knight scored baskets on consecutive possessions to cut the lead to 45-31 with 33 seconds left in the half. A three by New Paltz gave the Hawks a 44-35 halftime lead.
Midway through the second half, the Devils cut the lead to three with a 15-0 run. Knight score 12 of the points, including a trio of three-pointers, to make it a 63-60 game.
New Paltz returned the favor with an 11-0 run with about eight minutes left to play. They would keep the lead in double-digits the rest of the way.
Next up for the Devils are the Buffalo State Bengals. They are schedule for a 4 p.m. tipoff in Dods Hall next Saturday.
