FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Potsdam Bears claimed a 62-55 victory in Dods Hall on Friday evening. The Devils got a strong performance from
Renee Park with 18 points and
Sarah Seaman with 13 points.
Potsdam got out quickly, with an 18-9 lead after a quarter. The Devils would dominate the second quarter and the teams would be locked up in a 29-all game at the half.
The teams kept a razor tight margin in the third. The Devils would claim a five-point lead early on, 36-31, the largest lead by either team until the final minute of the game. Potsdam would lead by a point twice in the third, with the Devils ending the frame with a 43-42 lead.
The Devils' final lead of the game came 54-52 following a three-pointer by Park in the fourth quarter, putting them up 54-52. Potsdam closed out the game on a 10-1 run to claim the win.
Postdam received a 28-point, 11-rebound effort from Jakia Howard.
The Devils are back in action tomorrow afternoon with a 2 p.m. start vs. Plattsburgh in Dods Hall.
