BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State tennis team fell to Alfred University, 9-0, on Saturday evening. This was the teams first contest of the season and home opener.

In singles, Bella Surma recorded two points against Alina Zabihailo (0-6, 2-6), Violet Hess recorded two points against Eve Liu (1-6, 1-6), Brianna Gentile recorded two points against Anna Gwozdz (2-6, 0-6), and Lexi Hawley recorded one point against Macy Youngberg (1-6, 0-6).

The Devils fell short in both doubles, as Surma and Hess fell 2-8, while Gentile and Hawley lost 1-8.

The team is back in action next Saturday, away in Oswego.
