FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State lacrosse team dropped a 6-5 game that went to four overtime periods vs. Buffalo State at University Stadium on Wednesday.
Down 4-3 heading into the fourth quarter, the Devils got goals from 
Alexa Ventura and 
Erin Woods to take a 5-4 lead. 
However, the Bengal's Tala Abdellatif scored with 30 seconds left in regulation to tie the score. The game then saw three scoreless overtimes periods before Lauren Rinow scored the game winner for Buff State.
Woods led the Devils with two goals, and 
Molly McGowan, 
Alexa Ventura, and 
Julie Culver each scored one. McGowan and Culver each had an assist.
Buffalo State led 2-1 after the first quarter. They had the only score of the second quarter to take a 3-1 into the half.
Fredonia State would outscore the Bengals 2-1 in both the third and fourth quarters to tie the game at 5-all, forcing overtime.
Emily Carr made 15 saves in goal, and Janae Nelson had nine for Buff State. Liz Schultheis led the visitors with three goals.
Fredonia State falls to 1-14 overall and 0-8 in the SUNYAC. Buffalo State is now 6-8 and 2-6 in the conference.
The Devils' final game of the season is this Saturday vs. Potsdam. Seniors 
Tessa Brady, 
Allison Polito, and 
Kendall Shearn will be honored for Senior Day.
Despite the defeat, the Fredonia State athletic department maintained a 16-2 lead in the 
Battle by the Lake competition.Â
