Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

The Blue Devils Fall In Game Two of the Season

BUFFALO, N.Y. --- The Fredonia State women's lacrosse team traveled to D'Youville, for a Wednesday night game under the lights. The Blue Devils were unable to grab a win, as they fell to the Saints with a final score of 17-4.

D'Youville started out hot, as they scored the first five goals of the game and held the Blue Devils to very little time in the offensive zone.

Fredonia State was able to find the back of the net on their first shot of the game. Tessa Brady drove to the net, fighting through her defenders contact, where she found the bottom left corner. This brought the score to 5-1.

The Saints answered back quickly, by scoring four straight goals.

Sarah Guariglia scored Fredonia States' second goal of the game, after receiving a free possession attempt. With the attempt called, Guariglia was able to release her shot before the defenders closed out and found the back of the net, 9-2.

Fredonia States third goal of the game came off an excellent pass from Julie Culver, before the end of the first half. Culver was unable to find a lane to the net, instead she reset the offense and found Alexa Ventura Cutting to the net. This goal cut into the D'Youville lead, 10-3.

At halftime, the Blue Devils were outshot 17-3 with shot on goal.

D'Youville scored three unanswered goals to start the third quarter.

The Blue Devils found their final goal of the game, after Makayalla Farino found a wide open Brady in front of the net. This closed the score to 13-4 and was Brady's second goal of the game.

D'Youville closed out the game with four more goals and a final score of 17-4.

The Blue Devils fall to 0-2 on the season, while D'Youville increase their record to 3-3.
