CLERMONT, Fla. -- Fredonia State women's softball opened the Florida portion of its schedule with a 5-2 loss Saturday to Simpson College at the Legends Way complex.
Allie Wandell and
Maria Caviris each had two hits and
Alexis Wulf walked twice and scored two runs for the Blue Devils (0-5), whose other scheduled game Saturday vs. St. Lawrence was postponed.
Starting pitcher
Emily Chelius was tagged with the loss.
Erin Cunningham and
Vanessa Galbraith pitched in relief with Galbraith recording one scoreless inning. Overall, they combined to allow three earned runs on eight hits.
The Blue Devils return to action Sunday with a pair of games at Hancock Park in Clermont, Fla. -- 4:15 p.m. vs. Utica and 6:30 p.m. vs. Framingham State
