The Lakers doubled their lead in the second period when defenseman Troy Robillard scored on helpers from Garrett Clegg and Brett Fudger. It was Robillard's first score of the year.

The third goal came on a power play off the stick of Alex DiCarlo with just over four minutes left to play in the game. It was DiCarlo's team-leading eighth goal of the season.

The Devil's Craig McCabe pushed the offensive effort with nine shots, including five shots on goal. Anders Johnson picked up three blocks on the defensive end. The Devils collected 20 as a team.

The Devils were 0-2 on power play chances and the Lakers scored once in five man-up advantages.
