CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team dropped its last game before the Thanksgiving Break, 78-68, at John Carroll on Wednesday. AJ Knight led the Devils with 19 points, four assists, and three steals. Aaron Collins added 13 and Jacob Hougan 10 points, while both grabbed a team-high five boards. DeAndre Hayes added 10 points and four assists.

John Carroll jumped out to the early lead, scoring the game's first six points, and eventually pushing the lead to as many as nine points. A layup by Will Yontek made it 25-16 in favor of the hosts. An 8-0 run by Fredonia State quickly cut the lead to one point. A pair of threes from Matt Aebersold and My'Kell Kaigler, followed by a layup by Hayes made it a 25-24 game.

Up 27-26, JCU scored the half's final five points to take a 32-26 lead into the break.

Things stayed close early in the second half. A Knight three pointer at the 13:53 mark saw the Devils trailing by just five points, 46-41.

John Carroll then exploded on an 18-0 run over the next nine minutes to up its lead to 64-41. The Devils would battle back and get within seven points in the final minute of the game, but could not overcome the deficit.

The Devils continued their improved long-range shooting, hitting 10-19 treys. Knight would go 5-8 from beyond the arc.

The Devils shot 6-9 from the line compared to 16-26 for the Blue Streaks, and were outrebounded by JCU, 34-25.
