POTSDAM, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State hockey team scored a goal in the first and a goal in the third period, but could not overcome a three-goal second by Potsdam, dropping a 3-2 game on Saturday. Greg Lee and Ryan Bailey both scored for the Devils.
Lee scored the game's first goal nine minutes in on assists from Bailey and Spencer Quinn.Â
The Bears would go on to dominate play in the second period. They would score a pair of even-strength goals and finish things off with a power play at the 19:07 mark.
The Devils made it a one-goal game late in the third when Bailey beat the Bear's goalie at 15:56.
Johnny Aonso assisted. Fredonia State pressed the action in the third, outshooting Potsdam, 20-7.
Logan Dyck made made 31 saves and gave up three goals for the Devils. Connor Green made 36 saves and gave up two scores for Potsdam.
The Devils were 0-5 on power plays and the Bears went 1-4. Faceoffs were 38-36 in favor of Potsdam, who improved to 2-6-0 and 1-5-0 in the SUNYAC.
The Devils fall to 1-6-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the SUNYAC. They have next weekend off before playing host to Brockport and Geneseo the first weekend of December.
