FREDONIA, N.Y. -- A strong fourth quarter by the Fredonia State women's basketball team helped the Devils to a 66-57 victory over visiting William Smith College on Friday.
Renee Park led the team with 23 points while freshmen Sarah Seaman and Laurell Brown both kicked in 12 apiece.
Leading by just a point early in the fourth, the Devils would eventually lead by as many as 13 late in the fourth.
The Devil offense got off to a hot start, putting up 20 points in the first quarter en route to a 20-14 lead. The Herons would cut the lead to two, 29-27, by the half.
Neither team would be able to pull away. The Herons scored the first bucket of the fourth quarter to make it a one-point game, 43-42, in favor of the Devils.
The Devils responded with an 8-0 run that included threes by Seaman and Park, and a layup from Park. The Devils would eventually lead by as many as 13 points, 64-51 with 1:44 left to play, to close out the game.

Park added five assists to her stat line, while
Caitlin Snyder had a game high eight rebounds. Freshman Amber Louis added nine points.
The Devils shot 41 percent from the floor, including an 8-of-25 effort on threes. The Herons shot 37 percent, and were 6-of-16 from beyond the arc.\
Lauren DeVaney led the Herons with 17 points and Brooke Jarvis added 16.
The Devils travel to Chatham College on Saturday.
