ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Down 2-0 to, the Fredonia State men's soccer team battled back for their playoff lives, but came up short in a 3-2 loss at Oneonta on Saturday.

The Devils' Chance Lacroix scored his third goal of the season to make it 2-1. After another Red Dragon goal, Kaleb Steward brought the team to within a score in the 83rd minute before time ran out.

"It's been a really fun last couple of weeks," said head coach PJ Gondek. "After a rough start we battled back and put ourselves in position for a SUNYAC playoff berth but today we came up just short. This is always a tough day for all our players but especially our seniors. If it's any consolation to them they showed our young team how it's done and now we are set up for the future."

Milkias Aregawi assisted on both goals, and Robert Aboagye also had an assist.

Tanner Stutzman made four saves in goal while surrendering three scores. Nate Hannah had two saves and two goals against for the Dragons. Oneonta led in shots (15-5) and shots on goal (7-4),
