CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's soccer team suffered a road loss, 5-0, at Cortland on Saturday. The Red Dragons used the home field to their advantage, out shooting the Devils, 22-6.

Cortland scored in the 21st and 36th minutes of the first half. They added three scores in the second half.

Tanner Stutzman made six saves in goal over 67 minutes of work. He was spelled by Kyle Pezzulo who made one save without allowing a goal over the final 23 minutes.

"We got off to a great start to the game," said head coach PJ Gondek. "We were creating offense but we let them slip through a few times and that really changed the game. Before we could try to close the deficit in the second half they scored again. They have some weapons. It's a good lesson for our young team."

Fredonia State falls to 1-5-3 and 0-3-2 in the SUNYAC. Cortland ups its record to 6-3-2 and 2-0-2.

The men are on the road again on Wednesday at Brockport.
