FREDONIA, N.Y. -- A hot start by Buffalo State propelled the Bengals to a 73-59 victory on Friday. A 29-9 run to open the game was too much for the Devils to come back from.
Isabella Wier had 10 points and
Morgan Davis and
Maddy Miske had nine each. Fredonia State fell to 5-6 in the SUNYAC and 10-8 overall.
Buffalo State saw a career night from Katie Villarini with 36 points. Tashawni Cornfield added 18. The Bengals conference record improves to 6-4, and they are 9-7 overall.
After one quarter of play, the Bengals upped their lead to 34-12. The Devils would outscore Buff State, 19-16, in the second quarter, but still trailed by 19 at the break.
Buff State outrebounded the Devils, 41-36. The Devils were 10-16 from the line, and 5-22 from three. The Bengals were 10-12 at the line, and hit 7-19 three pointers.
Buffalo State also gains one point in the
Battle by the Lake.
