ERIE, Pa. -- The Fredonia State women's volleyball team fell to 5-7 on the season following a three-to-nothing loss in straight sets at Penn State Behrend on Tuesday.
Kourtney Krchniak had 20 assists and three aces.
Emily Jones had 11 kills and
Christie Ackendorf had six.
Sierra Keim had 11 digs and
Selena Brown had three blocks.
In the first set, Fredonia State led 20-16 before the Lions rattled off the last nine points, winning 25-20.
Behrend led wire-to-wire in the second set, taking it 25-17.
The Devils again built a lead they could not hang on to in the third set. The Devils led 6-1 early on, and later held an 18-11 advantage. Behrend again scored nine in a row to take a 20-18 lead, before ending the set with a 25-19 win.
The Lions improved to 8-4.
Fredonia State will make its home debut this weekend. They take on Oswego on Friday and Cortland Saturday. The Devils are currently 1-0 in the SUNYAC.
