FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's tennis team fell 5-4 in a hard-fought battle with Oswego on Saturday. The Devils won two singles and two doubles, and lost a pair of singles on tiebreakers.
Bella Surma took No. 2 singles, 6-3 an 6-1, and
Sarah O'Leary took No. 5 singles at 6-2 and 6-4.
Fredonia State claimed Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. Surma and
Caitlin Snyder were 8-2 winners. O'Leary and
Emma Nortey won 8-3.
At No. 5 singles,
Dominique Martello split the first two sets 6-7 and 7-6, before dropping the tiebreaker 6-4. Nortey split her two sets at No. 6 singles, 6-4 and 4-6, and dropped her tiebreaker, 6-1.
The Devils are back in SUNYAC action facing Cortland on Saturday.
