OSWEGO, N.Y. – Bri Emery and Allison Coon had three goals each in the first road game of the spring for the Fredonia State women's lacrosse team.
The 16-10 loss at Oswego State dropped the Blue Devils to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference.
Erin Woods had two goals and two assists for a team-high four points. Madeline Haney added one goal and two assists. Ally Kilburn was credited with five ground balls and Sydney Buchko netted three draws. Emily Carr started in goal for the Blue Devils and was credited with seven saves. Sydney Booth made five saves against three goals allowed in the final 17:20.
Last week's SUNYAC Player of the Week, Oswego's Sela Wiley, filled the stat sheet for the Lakers (2-0, 1-0) on Saturday. She led her team in eight categories, including five goals, seven points, 12 draw controls, and four caused turnovers.
Fredonia State took its only lead 1-0 in the opening minutes on a goal by Haney. Oswego State took command with a 5-0 run and led 8-3 at halftime. The Blue Devils were outscored 8-7 in the second half. They are back in action 6:30 p.m. Wednesday vs. D'Youville at University Stadium.
