FREDONIA, N.Y. -- In its second home match in two days, Fredonia State fell to 1-1 with a 9-0 loss to unbeaten Daemen on the Steele Hall courts.
The No. 3 doubles team of Dominque Martello and
Sarah O'Leary came closest to avoiding the whitewash with a 7-5 loss to Daemen's Mackenzie Schayes and Hannah Pagano. O'Leary won the most games among the Blue Devils as she fell to Pagano in No. 6 singles by 6-3, 6-3 scores.
Bella Surma won three games and
Princess Unita Obi one game during singles matches and combined for a point in doubles. Fredonia's No. 1 doubles team of
Jane Chiacchia and
Taylor Marelli won two games in their match.
Frida Rubio, Christina Stasiuk, and Mackenzie Hayes were 6-0, 6-0 singles winners for Daemen, which improved to 3-0.
