FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team dropped a home game, 71-55, to SUNY Cortland on Saturday.
Jackson Brown scored 11 points and
Marquis Tubman had 10 to lead the Devils. Eleven different Blue Devils made their way into the scoring column.
Jacob Hougan had nine rebounds.
Austin Grunder had 14 points to lead Cortland. Humberto Carrera added 13.
Cortland outscored the Devils, 37-27, in the first half. The Devils would take the lead twice in the half.
Lance Welker nailed a three pointer to give the Devils a 9-8 lead five minutes in.
Dydy Bryan's layup put Fredonia State up 16-14 with just under ten minutes to play.
A three pointer by Cortland's Danny Linehan to end the half gave Cortland its biggest lead to that point.
The Dragons would keep the lead in double digits the entire second half.
Fredonia State outrebounded the Dragons, 42-31. Cortland had a decisive advantage in three-point shooting. Fredonia shot 8-32 (25 percent) while Cortland was 13-32 (41 percent).
The Devils travel to Penn State Behrend for a non-confernece contest on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
