BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team dropped a 75-65 game at Brockport on Tuesday. A quartet of Devils scored in double digits, led by
Dydy Bryan (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Boys & Girls) with 16 points.
My'Kell Kaigler (Liverpool, N.Y. / Bishop Ludden) added 11 and six steals, and
Marquis Tubman (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Erasmus Hall) and
Jackson Brown (Latham, N.Y. / Catholic Central) scored 10 apiece. Bryan and Brown both had three steals.
Brockport (4-1 / 1-0 SUNYAC) was led by Jahidi Wallace with 17 points and Antonio Alvarez with 16.
The Devils jumped out to a quick lead and found themselves up 14-7 five minutes into the game.
Brockport would tie the game at 16, before the Devils used a layup by Bryan to regain the lead. The Devils last lead of the half would come at 24-22.
Tied at 34-all, Brockport used a pair of free throws to take a 36-34 lead into the break.
A free throw by Kaigler and layup by Tubman to open the second half gave the Devils a 37-36 lead. The teams would find themselves tied at 39 before Brockport would go on a 9-0 run and take the lead for good.
A pair of free throws by Tubman at the midway point brought the Devils within four points, 55-51, but they would get no closer.
The Devils outrebounded Brockport, 44-41, with
Jacob Hougan (Chardon, Ohio / Chardon) leading the team with seven.
The Devils (0-7 / 0-1) head home this weekend for SUNYAC contests vs. Geneseo on Friday and Cortland on Saturday.
