FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State rallied for three goals in the final three minutes to secure a 5-5 overtime tie with Buffalo State in SUNYAC men's hockey Friday at Steele Hall.
Charlie Manley completed the comeback from a 5-2 deficit with a slapshot from the high slot with 1:24 remaining in regulation. The goal was Manley's second of the game and his 10th this season. He also scored on a power play late in the second period. In addition,

Jacob Haynes, and
Jasper Korican-Barlay had goals for the Blue Devils, who were playing their third straight overtime game and their eighth of the season.Â
Fredonia State is 4-8-6 overall and 1-6-2 in the SUNYAC. The six ties equals the single-season school record established during the 2013-14 season.
Buffalo State ended the night at 9-7-2 overall and 5-3-1 in the conference.
The Bengals built a 5-2 league with a pair of goal in each of the first two periods and a goal by Colin O'Connor early in the third period. Sam Maddox had two goals and Vadim Vasjonkin and Ben Butcher had one goal each.
The Fredonia State comeback began with a goal by Haynes, his eighth of the season at the 15:07 mark of the third period. Korican-Barlay's goal at 17:23 cut the deficit to one goal ahead of Manley's equalizer. The final two goals were scored with the teams were skating four a side following coincidental penalties. The Blue Devils pulled the goaltender in favor of an extra attacker.
Buffalo State outshot Fredonia State 5-0 in the overtime with
Dalton Jerzak turning back all five shots and six overall in relief of starter
Ryan Pascarella, who left the game late in the third period after making 28 stops. Buffalo State's Connor Minch had 31 saves.
Friday's tie earned each team one point in the Battle By The Lake series -- currently tied at seven points each -- and served as a prelude to Saturday's rematach at the Buffalo State Ice Arena. Game time is 7 p.m.
