FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match vs. New Paltz on Friday evening. The teams split the first two sets, before New Paltz took the final two.
New Paltz, last year's SUNYAC Tournament Champions, won 25-14, 16-25, 25-17, and 25-20.
Emma Booth (Hamburg, N.Y. / Frontier) led the Devils with 12 kills in 38 total attempts.
Emily Leone (Le Roy, N.Y. / LeRoy) and
Emily Jones (Plainfield, Ill. / Joliet Catholic) had five kills apiece.
Kourtney Krchniak (Lockport, N.Y. / Lockport) had 24 assists and three aces.
Jones led the defense with three blocks and Booth had 17 digs.
Sierra Keim (Shinglehouse, Pa. / Portville) had 10 digs and two aces.
New Paltz improved to 6-7 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
The Devils (7-8 / 1-1 SUNYAC) continue conference play with a 1 p.m. match in Dods Hall vs. Oneonta on Saturday.
