FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's tennis team improved to 4-0 with a 9-0 win over Alfred University on Tuesday afternoon at the Steele Hall courts.

The Blue Devils were led by Anna Chiacchia. Playing at No. 1 singles, Chiacchia routed Tori Pelligrino 6-1, 6-0. In addition, Chiacchia and Sarah Bunk combined for an 8-1 win over Pelligrino and Amber Smith in their No. 1 doubles match.

Other Fredonia singles winners were Sarah Bunk at No. 2 (7-6, 6-3); Jane Chiacchia at No. 3 (7-5, 6-0); Taylor Marelli at No. 4 (6-3, 6-3); Avril King at No. 5 (6-1, 6-3); and Ashley Mills at No. 6 (6-4, 6-2).

Other doubles winners were Mikayla Johnson and Bunk (8-0) and King and Marelli at No. 3 (8-2). Alfred falls to 0-4.
