CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Fredonia State managed just one shot Sunday in its 8-0 women's soccer loss Sunday to Case Western Reserve University.

Melanie Minotti was credited with the lone shot-on-goal for the Blue Devils, (0-2-0) while goalkeeper Sabrina Suriani made five saves. It was the first college game for Subrina, a freshman.

Johanna Dunkers and Anika Washburn had two goals each for the Spartans (2-0-0), who led 3-0 at halftime and finished with a flourish with three goals in the final five minutes. 

Spartan goalkeeper Lauren Metz made the lone save on Minotti's shot to get credit for the shutout.

After two road games to open the season, the Blue Devils begin a five-game homestand starting Friday afternoon vs. D'Youville as part of the Blue Devil Classic. Kickoff is 3:30 p.m.
