FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State baseball team used the strong right arm of
Luke Kuczewski to power its way to a 6-0 victory over Brockport on Friday. Kuczewski (4-3) surrendered three hits, struck out eight, and walked one in shutting out the Eagles in a complete-game effort.
Russ Mistretta led the offense with three hits, and
Tyler Phillips,
Trevor Bradshaw, Billy Clifford, and Dom Monti had two hits apiece.
Lou Miceli had two of Brockport's three hits. Alex Brown (1-5) took the loss going six innings, giving up eight hits, five runs, three of which were earned.
The Devils scored two in the first, two in the sixth, and tacked on insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
Fredonia improves to 7-3 in the SUNYAC, while Brockport falls to 4-9. The teams conclude the three-game set with a doubleheader beginning at Noon on Friday.
