NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Fredonia fell to 0-3 in the SUNYAC, 3-7 overall, with a 24-7 loss Saturday to New Paltz in women's lacrosse.
Madeline Haney had three goals and one assist,
Jen Kershner two goals, and
Alli Coon and
Alyssa Kissel each had a goal for the Blue Devils. Coon also had two assists.
Amy Hofer had six goals and two assists for the Hawks (7-2 overall, 2-0 SUNYAC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- New Paltz jumped to a 6-0 lead before back-to-back goals by Coon and Haney midway through the first half. Spiess assisted on both goals.
- Kershner scored twice late in the first half, including an unassisted tally with 48 seconds before halftime.
- The Blue Devils scored three consecutive goals late in the game by, in order, Kissel, then two by Haney.
- Spiess collected three draw controls while Coon and Grace Dalton were each credited with three caused turnovers. Morgan Sinclair picked up two ground balls.
