BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Despite 21 points from
Dydy Bryan and a double-double from
Moussa Samassa, the Fredonia State men's basketball team fell to Buffalo State, 85-74, on Saturday.
Bryan was 8 of 17 from the floor an collected six rebounds and five steals. Samassa had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Tyler Roberts had 11 points, and
De'Quan Smith had 10.Â
Buffalo State would hang onto the lead until midway through the half. Fredonia State's first advantage came at the 10-minute mark. A steal and ensuing layup by
Marcus Patterson put the Devils up 21-20. The Devils would lead by as many as five points before the teams ended the half tied at 39.
Bryan opened the second half with a three pointer. The Devils would expand the lead to six points, 47-41, early in the second frame. The teams would exchange the lead several time before Buff State pulled away late.Â
Buffalo State won the battle on the boards, 38-35. Fredonia was 7-of-23 from long range, while the Bengals were 9-of-21.
The Bengals (3-2 / 1-0 SUNYAC) had five players in double digits, led by Sheldon Adams' 21 points.
Fredonia State falls to 3-3 and 0-1 in the conference.
