FREDONIA, N.Y. -- After an evenly played first half, the visiting Penn State Behrend Lions pulled away in the second half for a 76-60 victory.
Dydy Bryan and
Tyler Roberts had 17 points apiece to pace the Devils.
In the first half, there were five lead changes and three ties, and both teams were perfect from the line -- Behrend connecting eight times and the Devils six. Both teams grabbed 14 rebounds. Behrend took a 35-34 lead into the break.
The Lions opened the second frame on an 11-2 run to gain a 10-point advantage, 46-36.
The Devils fought back and would pull within a point, 50-49, following a layup by
Kreem George with just over 10 minutes remaining. The Devils would again get within a point with 8:52 to go, trailing 55-54.
Moussa Samassa had eight points and Bryan topped the Devils with six boards and three assists. Roberts collected three steals.
Behrend (5-3) was led by Kevin Fukon with 20 points and PJ Gourley with 16.
The Devils (3-4) will take nearly a month off before returning to action at Oswego on Jan. 10.
