RUTLAND, Vt. -- It'll be an All New York State championship game at the Castleton Invitational this afternoon.
The Nazareth Golden Flyers, from the Rochester suburb of Pittsford, N.Y., joined Fredonia State in the finale with a 6-1 win Friday night over the host Castleton Spartans. The Blue Devils punched their ticket earlier in the evening with a 1-0 shootout win over No. 15 ranked Curry.
Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. today at the Spartan Arena. Live coverage will be available via this website by

It'll be the first meeting between the two schools (Nazareth added men's hockey in 2012), yet the two head coaches are no strangers. Nazareth's George Roll, in his 22nd season as a college head coach, spent seven seasons at Oswego (1996-97 through 2002-03). He and Fredonia State's
Jeff Meredith -- in his 32nd season, all with the Blue Devils -- have a head-to-head coaching record of 8-8-2, including two SUNYAC Tournament series (1997 won by Fredonia State, 1999 won by Oswego).
Nazareth enters today's game with a 4-3-1 record while the Blue Devils are 1-5-2.
Today's consolation game is a matchup of teams coached by two of Meredith's former assistant coaches -- Curry's T.J. Manastersky and Castleton's Bill Silengo.
