Copper shines in collegiate debut

ITHACA, N.Y. – Fredonia State freshman Kyle Copper was a winner in his first collegiate swimming & diving meet Saturday, touching first in the 100-yard butterfly at a quadrangular meet against Ithaca College, Brockport, and Buffalo State.

Copper had a winning time of 53.95 seconds. The Blue Devils' next best finish was a fourth-place showing by Cameron Cross in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.97 seconds.

Finishing fifth in their respective events were Charlie May in the 50-yard backstroke (27.68 seconds), Brad Zifra in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.26 seconds) and the 100-yard individual medley (58.19 seconds), and Robert Atwood in the 100-yard freestyle (51.77 seconds).
