CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's basketball team dropped a 61-52 contest at Cortland on Saturday and earned a split on the weekend after defeating Oswego a day earlier. Jenna Einink (Westfield, N.Y. / Chautauqua Lake) scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. Einink also had four blocks.

Anna Chiacchia (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg) added nine points, five rebounds, and four assists, and Sydney Turley (Cheektowaga, N.Y.  / Cleveland HIll) had eight points and five assists.

An offensive slump in the second quarter did in the Blue Devils. After taking an 18-10 lead after one, Cortland outscored Fredonia 24-6 in the second quarter for a 34-24 lead at the half.

Fredonia outscored Cortland by a point, 28-27, in the second half. 

Fredonia falls to 5-6 in the SUNYAC and 8-10 overall. The Red Dragons are tied with Fredonia at 5-6 in conference play, and the teams split the season series. Fredonia topped Cortland 58-45 back in early December.
