FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Second-half goals by

Danielle Spring (Allegany, N.Y.) carried Fredonia to a 2-1 victory over D'Youville during Friday's Blue Devil Soccer Classic at University Stadium.

Spring's game-winner in the 78th minute was a hard left-footed shot off the cross bar which ricocheted down just beyond the goal line. It was her fourth goal as a collegian and her first this season.
Senior goalkeeper
Kendall Owczarzak (Lancaster, N.Y.) was credited with one save. The one goal she allowed was the result of a defensive miscue in front of her. a ball played over the top brought Owczarzak off her line. D'Youville's Britt Cristofanelli lobbed a shot over the goalkeeper from about 20 years out in the ninth minute. The Spartans held the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Megan Dulniak made 10 saves on the aggressive Blue Devils, who outshot the Spartans 28-3. The Blue Devils also took five corner kicks to just one by D'Youville.
Earlier in the day, Oswego rallied past Grove City, 2-1, to give the SUNYAC the first win of the day. All four women's teams are back in action Saturday at 12:30 p.m. when Fredonia takes on Grove City, and Oswego meets D'Youville.
