GENESEO, N.Y. -- The battle for first place in SUNYAC women's soccer ended with Geneseo defeating Fredonia, 4-0, and claiming the top spot by itself.
The loss dropped the Blue Devils to 3-1 in the conference, three points back of the Knights and three points clear of third place in the SUNYAC standings.
Four different players had goals for Geneseo, which led 3-0 at halftime. The Knights held Fredonia without a shot for the entire game.

Abbey Monahan (Warsaw, N.Y./Warsaw) allowed three goals and made nine saves.
Kendall Owczarzak (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster), a senior, was credited with two saves and one goal allowed in the final 26 minutes.
Fredonia is back in action Tuesday afternoon at Elmira, followed by a trip to Buffalo State next Saturday.
