Lauren Cullinan (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) had a goal and an assist Fredonia defeated Elmira, 3-0, in women's soccer Tuesday night.
Freshman defender
Emily Kwiatkowski (Lakeview, N.Y./Frontier) and freshman forward
Karen Johnson (Jamestown, N.Y./Southwestern) also had goals for the Blue Devils, who improved to 6-6 overall.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Abbey Monahan (Warsaw, N.Y./Warson) made three saves. It was her shutout this season.
The goal by Cullinan, coming in the 15th minute, was her first as a collegian, assisted by senior midfielder
Abby Price (Naples, N.Y./Naples). Freshman forward
Claire Roosa (Randolph, N.Y./Randolph) set up Kwiatkowski in the 23rd minute, while Cullinan was in on Johnson's goal in the 76th minute.
It was the second goal of the season each for Kwiatkowski and Johnson.
The assist by Price on Fredonia's first goal gave her at least one point in five games this season, all of them wins. She has 12 points total -- five goals and two assists.
The Blue Devils improved to 3-4 in road games and 6-1 in games when they've scored two goals or more.
The game was played at Notre Dame High School due to wet grounds at the Elmira College field . There was a lightning delay 33 minutes into the first half.
