BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's tennis team continued its winning ways, dropping Brockport 9-0 and improving its record to 7-0.
Sarah Bunk (Sayville, N.Y. / Sayville) and
Mikayla Johnson (Lakewood, N.Y. / Southwestern) each won every set to pace the Devils.
Bunk (Sayville, N.Y. / Sayville) won 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 3 singles, and Johnson repeated the dominance at No. 4 singles.
Anna Chiacchia (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg) took No. 1 singles 6-0 and 6-2.
Olivia Miller (Springwater, N.Y. / Wayland-Cohocton) was a 6-0 and 6-4 winner at No. 2.
To complete the sweep,
Jane Chiacchia (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg) won 6-4 and 6-2, while and
Taylor Marelli (Riverhead, N.Y. / Riverhead) won 6-2 and 6-1.
In doubles,
Anna Chiacchia and Miller won at No. 1 by an 8-1 count. Bunk and Johnson won 8-0, and
Jane Chiacchia and Marelli were 8-2 winners.
It was also the first SUNYAC match of the season. Brockport dropped to 1-5.
