ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's volleyball team won the first, third and fifth sets in a 3-2 victory over St. John Fisher on Friday to improve to 7-2 this season.
Kailey Falk (York, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy) turned in 13 kills, 23 digs, and three blocks.
SallyAnne Rudny (Jamestown, N.Y. / Southwestern) had 11 kills and 11 digs.
Amanda Mosack (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder) had 40 assists.
Rachel Aiello (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Bake) added 25 digs.
Fredonia and Fisher split the first two sets with identical 25-18 scores. The Devils dominated the third set 25-16, before dropping the third set 25-22.
The Devils jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the tiebreaking set, and would lead 9-2 before a Fisher timeout slowed their momentum.
Fisher pulled to within 10-7 out of the break before the Devils finished them off for a 15-10 victory.
Fisher dropped its record to 4-6.
Saturday, the Blue Devils wrap up the Nazareth Invitational with matches against Nazareth and Mount Union.
