BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia improved to 6-0 in women's tennis with an 8-1 home win Tuesday over Houghton on the Steele Hall courts.
Singles winners
Anna Chiacchia (Hamburg, N.Y.),
Olivia Miller (Springwater, N.Y.),
Sarah Bunk (Sayville, N.Y.), and
Jane Chiacchia (Hamburg, N.Y.) also won doubles matches.
Mallory Mecca (Derby, N.Y.) won her singles match while
Mikayla Johnson (Lakewood, N.Y.) and
Taylor Marelli (Riverhead, N.Y.) won doubles matches.
Miller remained unbeaten at No. 2 singles at 6-0. Matching her at 6-0 is
Jane Chiacchia, who has a 2-0 mark at three different levels -- No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6.
Anna Chiacchia (5-1), Bunk (4-0), and Marelli (4-1) have the next-best singles wins totals.
The No. 1 doubles team of
Anna Chiacchia and Miller improved to 5-1 with their win.
Jane Chiacchia and Marelli improved to 4-0 as doubles partners.
Fredonia's first test of the SUNYAC season comes Saturday vs. Brockport -- 12 noon on the Steele Hall courts.
