Madeline Haney (Macedon, N.Y./Victor) added two goals, in Fredonia's 23-9 women's lacrosse loss to Buffalo State in the Tuesday afternoon rain at Coyer Field.
In addition, freshman attack
Casey Villagomez (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca West) had one goal and one assist, and freshman attack
Emily Ellis (Sanborn, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield) and freshman defender
Alli Coon (Livonia, N.Y./Livonia) each scored one goal. Villagomez collected a team-high two ground balls.
The loss dropped Fredonia to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in the SUNYAC while the Bengals improved to 5-4 overall and 1-0 in the conference. Buffalo State also earned two points in the Battle By The Lake series. Fredonia holds a 17-9 advantage and has already clinched its fourth straight Lake Erie Cup.
The Blue Devils are back in action 5 p.m. Thursday when they return home to face Allegheny on the turf at University Stadium.
