ENGLEWOOD, Fla. -- Fredonia freshman midfielder Alexis Skowron (Elma, N.Y. / Iroquois) had four goals Thursday night in her team's 29-10 women's lacrosse loss to John Carroll at SpringFling 2018.

Skowron had three of her goals during a 5-1 Blue Devil run midway through the first half. Freshman Casey Villagomez (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca West) had the first goal of the run and junior midfielder Samantha Spiess (Fairport, N.Y. / Penfield) had the other.

Before the half was over, sophomore attack Madeline Haney (Macedon, N.Y./Victor) had a goal and Spiess had a second goal. The Blue Devils trailed 16-8 at the break. Villagomez, Skowron and Haney had Fredonia's only goals of the second half.

The Blue Devils (0-3) are back in action next Wednesday vs. Western Connecticut State.
