FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Nationally ranked Oswego stayed atop the SUNYAC with a 5-0 men's hockey win over Fredonia on Pink The Rink night at Steele Hall.
The No. 4 Lakers improved to 11-0-1 in the conference and 16-3-2 overall. The dropped the Blue Devils to 9-9-3 overall and 5-7-0 in the SUNYAC.
Oswego's Joseph Molinaro earned the No. 1 star with two goals and one assist, goaltender David Richir the No. 2 star for the 36-save shutout, and Mitchell Herlihey the No. 3 star with four assists.
Josh Zizek also had two goals and Cameron Berry had one to account for the rest of the Oswego scoring.
Anton Rosen (Orsa, Sweden) started in net for Fredonia and was credited with 31 saves on 35 shots.
Eric Bogart (London, Ont.) stopped all six shots he faced in the final 13:23.
With the loss, the Blue Devils dropped into a tie with Plattsburgh for fifth place -- one point back of Brockport with a game in had. The Blue Devils are also one point ahead of Potsdam, whom they meet on the road next Friday before heading to Plattsburgh on Saturday. The top six teams make the conference tournament.
Fredonia wore pink jerseys and socks for the 11th straight season with the sales of jerseys, tickets, and other items going to the American Cancer Society.
