BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Fredonia men's basketball team dropped an 82-59 road contest at Medaille on Tuesday.
Tyler Roberts (
Rochester, N.Y. / Wheatland-Chili) led Fredonia with 9 points, and a trio of Devils put up 8 in the scoring column --
Cody Johnson (
Cassadaga, N.Y. / Cassadage Valley),
Bediako Nyasa (
Harlem, N.Y. / Walton ), and
Mark Morgan (
Bronx, N.Y. / South Bronx Prepartory). Johnson and
Colden George (
North Java, N.Y. /
Attica) grabbed 5 rebounds apiece.
Fredonia jumped out to a 4-0 lead following a jumper by
Kadeem Riddick (
Brooklyn, N.Y. / Erasmus Hall Campus) and a layup by Johnson. Medaille would score the next 12 points for its first lead of the game.
Fredonia bounced back with an 8-0 run of its own to tie the game at 12 apiece.
Messiah Hill (
Brooklyn, N.Y. Paul / Robeson) and Roberts finished the run with a pair of threes. Medaille responded with the next six points to take the lead for good. By the half, they were up 42-28.
Medaile outscored the Devil 40-31 in the second half to give the final.
The Mavericks (2-5) were led by Cedric Mondjii with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
The Devils fall to 0-5. They return home this weekend with a SUNYAC series vs. Cortland and Oswego.
